It is in giving that we recieve

Have you ever wondered why some people who seem to have the least are always the ones to give? This is because they understand the words that says "it is in giving that we receive." They are the ones that put their needs aside and strive to help others who are in need for they know and understand the command of their heavenly father for they store not up riches here on earth but in heaven.

As Christmas is fast approaching we should embrace that spirit of giving as Luke 6:38 says give and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. Almost and if not all of us who goes to church says that we love one another but do we really mean it or are they just words without meaning. 1 John 3: 17-18 says that if anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him? Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth. Hebrews 16:13 also tells us that we should not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.

For as much as we should have love in our hearts we should also love our enemies for it is written in Luke 6:35 and continuing with the spirit of giving , it says ,"But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked." Matthew 6:19-21 warns us not to store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

So as we look at Christmas in a new way this year lets help to put a smile on someone's face so they too can have a merry Christmas as we take heed to the words "it is in giving that we receive." Smile
